Woody has been dedicated to the music profession for the past 22 years. By the time he was
25 he was an accomplished songwriter and was the cornerstone of the band The Street Players.
This popular band performed at dozens of venues including WHYY, Super Sundays in Philly, the
University of Penn, International House, Temple and Painted Bride. He then started the Hot Alpha
Band, a rock, R&B, funk, island and reggae band, that won the battle of the bands at the Tropicana
in Alantic City. Hot Alpha Band perfomances include John&Peters and Havana's in New Hope at the
Bucks County Community College, where he opened for headliner Robert Kline.
Then came the solo 21 years. As a diversified musician, Woody plays 7 different instruments
and has written more than 150 songs. As a solo artist, he has played in numerous places such as
the Philadelphia Art Museum, Camden Yards, Norman Rockwell Center, Evening Magazine, Katman
du for 10 years and at Bucks Beautiful Garden Fair at Del Val College. Woody has also opened for
Richie Havens, Albert King, Taj Mahal and Joe Cotton. Through a Central Bucks School District
initiative, Woody was granted the honor of playing at the Biloxi Mississippi High School Prom just
months after the Katrina hurricane disaster.
An accomplished avid professional Woody also plays at many private parties to the delight
of the guest.
Woody's music reflects his own inner peace and harmony and can be described as music of
"the heart and soul". His music is passionate, honest and organic and played "for the sake of
music", which is in stark contrast to commercialism that plagues the music industry.
Woody's stage presence is welcoming and engaging and his performances are a pleasure to
experience.
